USB Rechargeable Battery

UBSCellWe noticed it again this holiday period: when traveling you just carry around too much stuff. One of those things that typically take up  scarce space is a battery recharger.  We  dare not leave home without one (just to make sure that the batteries in our camera etcetera can get recharged).

Now consider this brilliant solution. Batteries that no longer need a separate device to recharge, but can do so simply via any availably USB port. USBCell makes it possible. Rechargeable batteries are obviously good news for the environment but now also good news for those wanting to cut down on their junk when traveling or for those who are just terrible at finding these recharger devices when you need them >:)

P.S: Please share with us any great solutions you have found to cut down on the weight & size of your traveling gear.

Royal Tube

Royal Tube Who says the British Monarchy is old fashioned? Well not anymore as the latest Christmas broadcast was not only available via the popular media, but also via YouTube. The British royal family decided it was time to open its own YouTube channel: The Royal Channel.

What a wonderful step to embrace new technology to reach out to people. We applaud the British royals for their courage and look forward to other royal families following their example >:)

100m Pennies for Charity

commoncents.jpgApproximately one hundred million pennies are at display in Rockefeller Center New York.
The exhibit, 30 feet by 165 feet, as long as a city block, is the culmination of the nonprofit organization Common Cents’ 17th annual Penny Harvest, a national educational program designed to teach children about their value as contributors to society. Hundreds of thousands of city students from more than 800 schools spent the weeks between Oct. 22 and Thanksgiving going door to door and collecting the pennies, which will be donated to organizations of their choice for causes such as protecting the environment and helping the elderly.

The exhibit was designed by architect James Polshek and will be on display in Rockefeller Center, near the famous Christmas tree, through the end of the year >:)

Tackle any Issue With a List of 100

notebook We came across an interesting post on litemind.com which gave a great lifehack on how to tackle any issue. Simply  force yourself to figure out (and write down) 100 ways to solve the problem you’re facing.  Apparently the first 30 entries are easiest to come up with as these are coming directly from your conscious mind. The next 40 entries are the most difficult: it’s hard to get past your initial ideas and truly figure out new ones. it’s important to go ahead though as the final phase (the last 30 entries) are where the real “gems” are as by then you will have exhausted your conscious mind. At that stage your unconscious mind will be able to express itself more freely and the best ideas come to you. While at it, two things are important: i) do the list in one go and ii) eliminate distractions.

All in all an interesting method to get your creative juices flowing >:)

From Phone Salesman to Opera Idol

Paul Potts did just that. In the show Britain’s Got Talent he delivered superbly at his first audition (contrary to what was expected by many when they saw this shy and humble man enter the stage):

He got through the semi-finals:

And finally won the finals:

Beautiful ! >:)
